The Public Review Draft of the Downtown Napa Specific Plan now available!
Thank you for taking the time to review the Draft Downtown Specific Plan.
As you know, the Downtown Napa Specific Plan expresses the community’s vision for Downtown Napa and provides a strategy for achieving that vision. The Draft Plan includes detailed policies, development standards and guidelines for land use, design, circulation and utilities to steer future public and private improvements and development in the Downtown Area.
It is important to note that the Draft Downtown Napa Specific Plan is a document that is “in process.” The purpose of circulating the Draft Plan for review is to provide the Specific Plan Steering Committee, decision-makers and the public an opportunity to comment on the document and to make necessary revisions prior to preparing a “final draft” for public review and circulating a Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) identifying environmental impacts associated with the Draft Plan.
The review period for the Draft Downtown Napa Specific Plan is between September 9, 2011 and November 11, 2011. During this time, the Specific Plan Steering Committee will hold several meetings to refine the Draft Plan. In addition, a workshop will be held to solicit Planning Commission and City Council input on the Draft Plan. All meetings are open to the public and an opportunity to receive public comments will be provided. Following the public review period, the City Staff will collect all comments received and work with the Consultant to address the issues.
To assist in your review of the document, City staff will be providing a “Comments Matrix” identifying issues raised in all of the public meetings held prior to preparation of the Draft Downtown Napa Specific Plan. The Comments Matrix will include the location in the Draft Plan where these issues are addressed, as applicable. The Comments Matrix will be circulated upon its release. It will also be available on the www.downtownnapaspecificplan.org website.
